SCRIPTURE

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:14

SPOTLIGHT

Have you ever gotten lost in a big city or perhaps a forest, and then wondered which way would get you back to safety?

Many years ago, off the Massachusetts coastline, an S-4 submarine was rammed by another ship. The sub quickly sank and the entire crew was “trapped in its prison house of death.” The crew hoped for a “WAY OUT.” A diver was sent down in the waters to discover what could be done to save the men. He placed his diving helmet on the vessel’s side and heard someone tapping out a question in the dots and dashes of Morse code. The question came slowly but revealed the anxiety of the crew, “IS…THERE…ANY…HOPE?” (Encyclopedia of Illustration
#2273).

At some point in life, everyone cries out, “IS THERE A WAY OUT?” Marriage conflicts, financial pressures, pressures mounting at work, or even worse, people slandering or gossiping about you, are some reasons to cry out.

Exodus is the title of the second book of the Bible. In Greek, “EXODUS” means “THE WAY OUT.” When you read this book you will learn that God always provides deliverance or “THE WAY OUT” for those who trust Him to lead them. When in a mess, connect with the best!

Discover how God can lower your stressing by providing a blessing! You need to know God in a personal way, not just know about Him! Moses personally knew God. What trouble the children of Israel were in - bondage, beatings, and brokenness. God told Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM HAS SENT ME TO YOU.’” (Exodus 3:14).

You need to personally know God the way Moses did. God directed Moses to lead the Israelites to freedom. Your way out is to know the Who’s Who of the universe. Your privilege is to personally know the Greatest of the great ones. There is always a “WAY OUT.” God always provides hope in the midst of life’s distress. Knowing God means that you will come to discover who Jesus Christ is. Jesus said, “I am the WAY…” (John 14:6). He does not just show you the way out but clearly says that He is the way out. He will lead you out. Personally knowing Jesus Christ and trusting Him to direct your life will lead you to experience deliverance in any messy situation or trial.

SOMETHING TO DO

Do you need to get out of a difficult or messy situation? What is it? Write it down.

Now write down what you know about God who can help you get out of this situation.

SOUL TIME PRAYER

Lord, You see this really difficult situation I am in. I have just written it down, but I have also written down what I know about You. I know You are faithful, loving, and powerful. I am asking You to direct and guide me during this time. I am asking You to give me a peace, as I trust in You for this really big need. AMEN!
