What would you say if I told you that one of my most prized, earthly possessions is my BMW? Much to your surprise, let it be known that one of my most cherished treasures on the face of the earth is my BMW which stands for BEAUTIFUL MARVELOUS WIFE.

SCRIPTURE

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand, she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:  “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:10-31

SPOTLIGHT

What would you say if told you that one of my most prizedearthly possessions is my BMW? First of all, some of you would not know what a BMW is. Secondly, others would not care. Thirdly, some would rant “What right does a Pastor have driving a BMW? That is just too expensive a car for a man of his profession. A BMW can cost up to $160,000.”

Much to your surprise, let it be known that one of my most cherished treasures on the face of the earth is my BMW which stands for BEAUTIFUL MARVELOUS WIFE. Donna exemplifies the noble and virtuous wife who is described in Proverbs 31:10-31.  She is so industrious in many areas while at the same time caring for our family. Throughout our marriage, let me name some of the “hats” she  has simultaneously worn - woman, wife, mother, pastor’s wife, elementary special-education school teacher, adjunct college professor and grand-mother. Sometimes I wonder where she has gotten all her energy and enthusiasm. Donna can pack more into one day than she can pack into a suitcase.

Let me remind all married men to treasure their BMW –  BEAUTIFUL MARVELOUS WIFE.

Once, when I was speaking at a church in Basel, Switzerland, I introduced myself by telling the congregation about my BMW. Spontaneously, one man spoke out to tell me he owned 2 BMW’s…the one who was sitting beside him and the one outside on the street.  Be sure to thank God for blessing you with a Proverbs 31 wife.  Personally thank your wife for:

     #1 Her energy and enthusiasm

#2 Setting high goals and diligently working to achieve them

     #3 Keeping you on track

#4 Believing life is not a random set of events but a wonderful plan orchestrated by God.

Every husband should set as his goal to help his wife to be a Proverbs 31 woman. A Godly woman will glorify God in everything she does. Help your BMW to pursue a daily relationship with the living God. This will lead her to discover His hand on every aspect of her life. God did not put anyone here on earth to only worship Him on Sunday. Everything a person does is to please God in order for unbelievers to see Jesus Christ in that person. That is not difficult when a persons primary goal is to bring glory and honor to Creator, God. Do everything in your power to assist your BMW to be God’s woman.

SOMETHING TO DO

Take a piece of paper and write out the 7 days of the week. Each day write a different way you can assist your wife to be a BMW.

SOUL TIME PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing me with my BMW. Give me insights as to how to help her to become all that You have planned for her life. AMEN
