Life is filled with questions. We continually ask: Why am I here? What am I to do? Where am I going? How do I know that I am making the right decision?

SCRIPTURE

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else. From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.” Acts 17:24-28

SPOTLIGHT

Life is filled with questions. We continually ask: Why am I here? What am I to do? Where am I going? How do I know that I am making the right decision?

Life is marked by choices. We continually try this and that. Sometimes we manage well. Many times we don’t. It is difficult to get a wholistic view. How can we see the big picture of life all the time?

Life is filled with confusion. We are continually bombarded with people telling us how to do things or wanting us to buy something. How can we determine what is right or the best? Where can we turn to get answers that will be truthful?

Life is marked with guesswork. We continually ask ourselves, how can I bring balance to my life? How can I avoid failing? Is there a strategy that will help me wisely plan my life? Is there someone I can call upon at any time for guidance?

Life is filled with hesitations. We continually think about how to confidently face the future. We wonder whether we should or shouldn’t. We would prefer to be proactive rather than reactive.

Can we LEARN TO LIVE? The answer is “yes!” In fact, we can learn how to thrive and not just survive. Everyone is always trying to work through the 5 problems mentioned above. They are unavoidable because we are human. But we can get answers to our questions. We can eliminate some of the choices. Something can be done to bring order out of confusion. Guesswork can be turned into work smart. We can minimize life’s hesitations. The answer Paul the Apostle gave to the Greek Athenians, in Acts 17:24-28, is the same answer that we need to hear. They were considered to be intelligent and wise. However, they still faced the 5 problems mentioned above. Paul identified that the number one solution to life’s habitual problems is to turn to life’s Creator. He is the Master Designer of life. We live and move and have “our being” because of God.

Your desire to LEARN TO LIVE is answered by personally knowing God. Ask Him to make Himself real to you. The Creator knows His creation the best. Ask the living God, Jesus Christ, to become real to you and to empower you to LEARN TO LIVE.

SOMETHING TO DO

Ask yourself the following questions:

1) Imagine what your life would be like if you awakened every morning knowing that you had someone who would help you to LEARN TO LIVE for that day, and every day following. Would you be more peaceful, calm, or happy?

2) What do you need to do to personally know God?

3) What is holding you back from doing it right now?

SOUL TIME PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I want to personally know You. Even if I believe I think I know You, I realize I need to know You more. Make Yourself real to me as I read Your Book, the Holy Bible. Bring into my life people who will help me to know You in a very personal, powerful way. I want to LEARN TO LIVE, with You guiding me. AMEN.
