Astronomy informs man that every star follows a precise path. Science informs man that there are fixed laws that must be followed, but when ignored, there is great peril. God wants you to live life well, but this cannot happen without order in your life.

SCRIPTURE

And God said, “Let there be light”… and God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water”… and God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let the dry ground appear”… then God said, “Let the land produce”… and God said, “Let there be lights in the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years”… and God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let the birds fly above the earth”… and God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds”…then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let him rule over”… Thus, the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array… Verses from Genesis 1 & 2

SPOTLIGHT

Is There Order In Your Life? In other words, do you know your destiny? Are you following a design? What drumbeat are you marching to?

Prime Minister Winston Churchill was one of the greatest leaders to ever live. In Mansfield’s book, “The Character of Greatness,” he identified that Churchill strongly believed the following:

#1. There is an order to life.

#2. Humans, not animals, have a role to play

#3. Purposes fulfilled by man in this order of life, are greater than personal pleasure, and fulfillment.

#4. There are nobler causes which demand man’s devotion, but when man is devoted, man becomes more noble.

#5. Duty measures manhood, character, leadership, and faith.

#6. People draw the highest understanding of life from eternity.

#7. People who live for rewards not in this life, but the next, understand the calling of God as a sacred God-given duty.

Churchill’s beliefs indicate why he had order in his life. One time he said, “There has to be a purpose to it all. I believe that I was chosen for a purpose far beyond our simple reasoning.” He experienced this order in his life because he knew he had a God given destiny, followed a farseeing design, and marched to God’s drumbeat.

It is impossible to read the Biblical creation account without observing that God, our Creator, is the God of order. In Genesis 1 and 2, you find God creating the heavens, earth, and every living thing. Please note 4 things from these verses that point to the importance of order:

#1. Everything in creation has a destiny/purpose. Nothing was created without having a reason for existence. God has a purpose for the existence of the tiniest seed, to the largest mountain extending to the vast universe.

#2. Every living creature has a design/plan to follow. The book of Proverbs sites the tiny ant as an example of knowing what to do in order to live a productive life.

#3. Every living creature marches to a drumbeat/precision. All living creatures are ordered by time. The human race is governed by seasons, years, months, days, hours etc. There is a rhythmic, pattern/pulse, which orders life.

#4. Every living creature does not know God’s presence. Only man is made in the image of God. Animals and fish do not have God’s likeness. Only man can personally know God. In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had a close friendship with their Creator. God gave man the authority to bring order to earth, by putting man in the position of ruling everything.

Astronomy informs man that every star follows a precise path. Science informs man that there are fixed laws that must be followed, but when ignored, there is great peril. God wants you to live life well, but this cannot happen without order in your life. Is There Order In Your Life? To experience order, you are going to have to choose to live within the framework of God’s order. God made life to be lived with order. Call it laws for living, or principles, and rules to live by, that lead to experiencing the best of life. Order is the opposite of confusion, and chaos. You will reach the highest achievements, and possess the greatest satisfaction, when you experience Godly order. To live life well, and to its fullest, you will have to:

#1. Know your Godly destiny/purpose.

#2. Follow God’s design/plan.

#3. March to God’s drumbeat/rhythmic precision/pattern.

Then you will experience God’s divine Presence, and have a personal relationship with your Creator.

SOMETHING TO DO

Get a pen and paper, find a quiet place for as long as needed, and write answers to the following questions:

#1. What is my Godly destiny/purpose?

#2. What do I have to do in order to follow God’s design/plan?

#3. How can I march to God’s drumbeat/precision?

SOUL TIME PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Almighty God, Maker of heaven, earth and me. Today, I recognize the need for Godly order in my life. For too long, I have experienced confusion, and even chaos. Some of my decisions have been bad, while others have made me sad. Reveal to me my destiny, show to me the design to follow, and empower me to march to Your drumbeat. AMEN!
