How excited are you about Jesus Christ coming to rapture His Church? Are you looking forward to seeing Jesus face to face and going to heaven?

SCRIPTURE

Live good, God-fearing lives day after day, …looking forward to that wonderful time we’ve been expecting, …when His glory shall be seen, the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Titus 2:12b,13 Living Bible

SPOTLIGHT

The Eveready Battery Company describes its products as being ever-ready to provide power. In the above Scripture section, Paul wrote Titus saying that every believer should be ever ready for Jesus Christ’s return. The Apostle was saying that every Christian should BE AN EVEREADY CHRISTIAN. He or she should be eagerly awaiting Jesus Christ's appearing.

How is this possible? To be an EVEREADY Christian, Paul encouraged believers to live:

  • a self-controlled life marked by goodness
  • a God-fearing, God-like life
  • a daily life of anticipation, looking forward to the time of seeing Jesus

Are you an EVEREADY Christian? To be ever ready for something to happen means you are waiting. If you are not waiting, then you are probably not ready. Are you eagerly waiting for Jesus to come again? In addition, to be ever ready for something to happen means you are prepared. Are you prepared for Jesus Christ to come in a twinkling of an eye? As a child, you may have played hide and seek. The seeking person would say “Ready or not, you must be caught.” Someday Jesus is coming back to rapture His Church. He will not announce His coming and will return even though people are not ready.  Are you ready to be caught up in the air? [1Thessalonians 4:16,17]

After church one day, a little girl asked, “Mommy, do you believe Jesus will come back?”

Her mother replied, “Yes honey, but why are you asking?” The conversation continued, “Could He come this week?” The mother responded, “Yes.” The little girl asked. “Today?” Again, the mother said, “Yes.” Then the little girl said, “Could he come in the next hour?” Once again, the mother said, “Yes, honey.” Then the little girl asked, “In a few minutes?” “Yes dear,” was the mother’s reply. With excitement, the little girl said, “Mommy, would you comb my hair?” Do you need to comb your hair or do something else to be an EVEREADY Christian?

Jim Hill penned the words, “What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see, when I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace, when He takes me by the hand and leads me through the Promised Land, what a day, glorious day that will be.” That moment will be indescribable. It will be so very special because you will stand before your Savior and Lord, face to face. Can you even imagine what it will be like to see the Creator of the universe who became the Lamb of God and who died for the sin of all men and women? What an overwhelming experience.

Max Lucado told about an inner-city, timid, 9-year-old girl named Barbara. Every Sunday she quietly sat in her Sunday School class listening but was afraid and insecure because of her difficult home life. One Sunday her teacher taught about heaven. Shyly, Barbara asked, “Is heaven for girls like me?” That moment marked the beginning of a new life for the little girl because she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Barbara became a member of God’s family which will someday meet in heaven. She became an EVEREADY believer, waiting and prepared to see Jesus.

SOMETHING TO DO

Pray and ponder about seeing Jesus face to face. What will you say or do? Try to truly imagine this meeting. Be honest. How will you feel? What will you do when He shows you the glory of heaven?

SOUL TIME PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I do not know how I will act when I see You face to face. You have so blessed me here on earth by being my Savior, Healer, Friend, and Comforter. Until You come, I choose to live a God-fearing, Godly life so that others will be drawn to You. Until You come, Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me a strong hope of Your return. AMEN
